Executive Program Community Safety Session | October 10th, 2025
Executive Program 2026 Cohort with Police Chief CJ Davis and Fire Chief Colin Burress at the Office of Emergency Management.
Our Executive Program cohort gathered for an insightful and action-oriented session on Community Safety, exploring how public agencies and community partners work together to keep Memphis and Shelby County safe. Hosted by the Memphis Office of Emergency Management, participants gained firsthand perspective on prevention, preparedness, and coordinated response efforts that protect our communities every day. The day featured an impressive lineup of speakers: Assistant Fire Chief Colin Burress of the Memphis Fire Department; Chief C.J. Davis of the Memphis Police Department; Valerie Matthews and Tamika Williams, Joint Directors of the Office of Neighborhood Safety & Engagement; Sandy Bromley (EP2025), Director of the Shelby County Division of Community Services; Jasmine Banks, Connector Program Coordinator for Shelby County; and Brandon Carpenter, Supervisor of the Office of Emergency Management. From understanding emergency operations and violence prevention to examining trauma-informed approaches and community connection, participants left with a deeper understanding of how leadership, collaboration, and trust are essential to a safer Memphis. Special thanks to our speakers and to the Memphis Office of Emergency Management for graciously hosting and supporting this impactful session.
