Government Session | Executive Program 2026

On Friday, September 12th, we continued our Leadership Memphis Executive Program journey at Memphis City Hall with a powerful deep dive into government, leadership, and civic engagement! Our cohort heard from an incredible lineup of leaders: Frankie Dakin (City Manager of Millington, TN), JB Smiley (FTS2019), Memphis City Councilman, Dr. Reginald Boyce (Office of Mayor Paul Young), Linda Philipps (Shelby County Election Commission), The Honorable AC Wharton (EP1979), Former Mayor of Shelby County and City of Memphis, and The Honorable Paul Young (EP2018), Mayor of Memphis. The session was designed to: -expand understanding of how government works at the city and county levels; -explore the role and responsibilities of serving on City Council; -learn about Memphis’ current priorities and initiatives; and -reflect on leadership, service, and civic responsibility. A special thank you to Keenan Lowrey (FTF2020) and the City of Memphis for hosting us at City Hall and helping make this session possible!
