Since 2004 Leadership Memphis has included Talent Recruitment and Retention as an important part of its curriculum for the Executive Program. Carol Coletta, CEO of CEO’s for Cities, and a strategic partner/guest faculty member with Leadership Memphis, is emphatic that the most successful cities are those who focus strategies and resources on talent, innovation, distinctiveness and connectivity. As one way to address the need for attracting and retaining talent for Memphis, Leadership Memphis introduced its FastTrack program for up-and-coming young professionals in the spring of 2008.
Leadership Memphis is a supporter of MPACT Memphis, a fellow nonprofit organization that engages and supports today’s diverse, creative generation of young professionals who want to connect with each other and contribute their unique talents to the community. Leadership Memphis and MPACT are working together to develop new opportunities to attract and retain talent. Several Leadership Memphis alums, Darryl Jackson, EP’06, Chantal Veevaete, EP’04 and Gwyn Fisher FS’08, are coordinating these efforts and will be announcing their plan in the near future.
