Greetings to my fellow alumni,
As this years chair of the Alumni Committee, I am excited to report many enhancements to our program and web site. All enhancements that I am about to summarize could not take place if not for the support of many talented individuals that want to help lead our city to greatness. We have expanded the capabilities of our Alumni program to allow opportunities for all to become engaged in leading the way. If your passion is Community Impact, we now have 4 existing programs for you to choose from. If your passion is Civic Engagement, we now have 4 programs for you to explore. In addition to these exciting programs we have Special Events and Projects, as well as, Class Communication opportunities to join in. Each one of our programs is being lead by a Leadership Memphis Alumni. These dedicated individual can explain their particular program and how you can join in. In addition, all our programs are in cooperation with existing highly successful Memphis programs. For example, Common Ground, The Grizzlies Foundation, The Rise Foundation, Coalition of a Better Memphis, Mpact Memphis, The German Marshall Fund, United Way, and more. And this is just the beginning......
During this class year (2008-09) we will be launching a campaign to capture everyone's past, present, and future board positions since their graduation from Leadership Memphis. Our city needs to know that Leadership Memphis is doing its part to lead by example by connecting leaders with leaders. We now have on our web site a listing of organizations interested in finding qualified board members, as well as, job opportunities you won't find anywhere else in Memphis. Each month we will have fresh new content about our programs, the people shaping our city, and alumni in action. Now, when newly graduated members of Leadership Memphis ask where can I put my knowledge and energies into motion, Leadership Memphis is leading the way.
