Judith A. Drescher, director of the Memphis Public Library system for 23 years, has announced she is retiring effective December 31, 2007.
Bishop William Young, Sr., was named the recipient of the 2007 LIVING AWARD for Inspiration in Faith and Health at Methodist Health Care Foundation's 26th Annual Living Awards Benefit.

Deanie Parker, President of the Soulsville Foundation, has announced her retirement effective December 31 2007.

Dr. Charlotte Kennedy has opened a private practice in Clinical Psychology and Behavioral Health Consulting and was recently elected President of Societas Docta, Inc., Memphis Chapter, a NationalAfrican American professional women's mentoring organization.

Glenn D. Sessoms has been named Vice-President of Human Resources Services and Diversity/Chief Diversity Officer for FedEx Corporation.

Harold Collins, was elected to the Memphis City Council and takes office January 2008.

Mary McDaniel has been named Vice Chair of the Southwest Tennessee Community College Board of Advisors.
Orr Rivero has been promoted to Vice President of Human Resources – Caribbean, Mexico, Central & South America Regions, based out of Miami, FL.

Katy Spurlock, Director of Community Intervention at the Urban Child Institute was named to a six-month term as citizen members of the Commercial Appeal board by Otis L. Sanford ‘’96, CA's editor for opinion and editorials.

Dee Griffin was named one of the Top 40 Under 40 by the Memphis Business Journal. The Clear Channel WPTY/WLMT TV anchor, was recognized for her determination.
George Mabon has been named Vice President for Human Resources with the Memphis/ Shelby County Airport Authority.
Jim Strickland, was elected to the Memphis City Council and takes office January 2008.

Eric Robertson, formerly the Housing and Community Development Manager with the LeMoyne-Owen College CDC, has accepted the position of Chief Administrative Officer with the Center City Commission, effective January 2008.
Brad Wilkerson, formerly with Patterson Graham, has joined the team of Southern Growth Studio, a brand marketing and product innovation services company.
2007
D. John Jackson has been promoted to Vice President of Global Customer Services Strategic Planning (GCSSP) for FedEx Customer Information Services (FCIS).
Keenon McCloy has been named the new director of the Memphis City Library system. McCloy previously served as the head of the city's division of public services and neighborhoods.
