Executive Leadership Program of 2014

Participants

The Executive Program is ideally suited for proven leaders ready to make a bigger difference in the community. Leadership Memphis brings together smart cross-sector leaders and creates a powerful forum for networking, collaboration and collective impact. Participants co-create the class experience by sharing their perspectives and knowledge, forging relationships with other leaders who care about the same things and want actionable change. 

Overview

The Executive Program does not teach participants to be leaders.  It helps existing leaders learn about our community.   It opens with a 3-day, 2-night retreat called Memphis 3-2-1. The remaining nine class days involve frank discussions about race relations, provide an eye-opening look at the social and economic challenges and opportunities Memphis faces, and identify how community leaders can play a role in creating the change necessary to make Memphis a City of Choice. The program includes candid, sometimes tough and always enlightening conversations with local movers and shakers, video-conferencing with national experts, and interactive class activities.

Time Commitment

The Executive Program is 12 full days of engagement over a nine-month period from August to April, and includes approximately 80 class day hours and 20 community service hours supporting public school principals.

Tuition

Tuition for the Leadership Memphis Executive Program is $3,950. It covers overnight accommodations for the retreat, program materials and meals, and all events and activities.

Financial arrangements are flexible and customizable according to individual and organizational needs. Tuition or a payment plan agreement is required prior to final acceptance in the class.

Tuition is refundable with the following conditions.

Withdrawal:

• Before April 23, 2013 – 100%
• After April 24, 2013 – 75%
• After June 1, 2013 – 25%  
• After July 1, 2013 – No refund

Scholarships

A limited amount of scholarship funding is available. During the application process, you will be asked to provide information requesting consideration for a scholarship. Program Schedule

There are two introductory events — a two-hour lunchtime orientation and an evening kick-off reception. The dates are to be announced. The 3-day, 2-night opening retreat, (Memphis 3-2-1), is held in Memphis. Attendance at the retreat is mandatory. Participants may miss no more than two of the remaining 9 class days and graduate.
